TACMQG's 2017 raffle quilt
"Jumping Puddles" is our guild's 2017 raffle quilt. Tickets for your chance to win this cozy addition to your couch will be available directly from members and at upcoming events.
I am pleased to announce that the 2015 Raffle Quilt was delivered to the Winner today. Her name is Mary Jane E. She recently moved to the Oregon coast from Rainier, Washington. We were very lucky that our drawing fell on the dates that it did, because it allowed me to be able to deliver it in person. She happened to be in the area, so I met up with her today before she headed back to Oregon, and she was Super Excited!
She has her own business called Mary's Attic and was at the Grayland Fairgrounds for the Annual Holiday Bazaar that she has participated in for over 20 years. We need to mark our calendars for the weekend before Thanksgiving for next year's event. This Bazaar is Big and takes over the Fairgrounds with Artisans of all styles. Let's get a carpool going and check out the fun, I'm Game!!!
Mary Jane has been sewing for over 60 years. She started quilting traditional style quilts 10 years ago. When she saw the quilt she told me that she knew exactly who she was going to be giving it to. She has a Grandson, Alex, who is very interested in Math and loves his Geometry and Science studies. She said it will make a perfect gift for him. She is quite sure her grandson is going to LOVE our Gray Day on Commencement Bay.
I shared with her some details of our quilt....about how everyone participated in making the triangles blocks and that different members participated in different aspects of construction. Piecing, Design, Assembly, Quilting, Binding and Labeling. This Quilt was a Group effort of nearly 30 members and we ALL have put lots of LOVE into it. She really truly was very appreciative of knowing what went into the quilt so she can share the story.
Be Proud TacMQG! Our Raffle quilt raised over $1560.00 and it went to a Wonderful Home. With our funds we will be able to make quite a few more quilts and have a great time doing it!
Hugs and Quilty Love,
Christine L.
