May BOM: off-set square (or rectangle!)
The Block Of The Month for May will be an Eye-Spy type of block, from Diary of a Quilter. The tutorial for "Mr Roboto - or off-set square - block tutorial" can be found here. Use some of those fun novelty prints that kids would enjoy looking at! And you can be creative in your size and placement of the Eye-Spy "square". Your fussy cut piece can also be rectangular, but your finished block will still need to be a square.
The block's background should be a solid-ish fabric that coordinates with your featured element. Because we want the block to be at least 12.5", you will need to start with a larger square, at least 13.5". Remember, please don't trim the block down to size - the blocks will be trimmed to the right size when the quilt is assembled.
Have fun!
