It's Better with Cheddar
From the humble beginnings of bits of yardage sent home with many guild members to piece into improv quarter log cabin blocks came our Quiltcon Charity Challenge quilt - "Better with Cheddar".
Aptly nicknamed for those chunks of cheese-like yellow, this quilt was almost completely pieced at a Sew In with much collaborative effort to get those things in just the right spot.
Inspired by an accidental T we went with it and added more blocks to create TACOMA. Someone else commented that a block looked like the old Asarco tunnel and we knew we were on our way to something great, just like our beloved City of Destiny.
Many hours of quilting and binding later Better with Cheddar was revealed at our January meeting. We're proud to ship this baby off to Pasadena to hang with the great quilts from so many other guilds!
Upon its return, we'll vote as a guild on which local charity is the lucky one to receive this quilt. It's our hope that it can be auctioned by them to raise a ton of money for a worthy cause.
Thanks to all who contributed to this fun quilt and belong to such a fun guild. It really was better with cheddar.
