HomeCommunity Quilts

Over the years, Tacoma Modern Quilt Guild has donated quilts to a variety of local organizations. Lately, our focus has been donating quilts to the Mary Bridge Children's Advocacy Center of Pierce County. This Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) serves child victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, as well as those who witness felony-level violence. They coordinate with a multidisciplinary team of Pierce County investigators to provide child forensic interviews, medical evaluations, victim advocacy and support, and mental health treatment. Every child who comes to the CAC has the opportunity to pick a quilt of their choice after their appointment. We are told that the children take great pride in this and that the quilt provides a sense of comfort in a traumatic and scary time for them.

If you wish to donate a new, unused finished quilt to our Community Quilt efforts please bring that quilt to our next Guild meeting or contact TacomaMQG@gmail.com.

If you are a Guild member who wishes to contribute a flimsy to be longarmed prior to donation to our Community Quilt efforts, remember that your flimsy must meet our longarmer's requirements before being accepted!
