HomeBlock of the Month

Block of the Month

Each month, our Guild makes a different quilt block — some are improv and some are a twist on more traditional blocks. It's always exciting to see all the different takes on a common theme. Each quarter, a member acts as captain and is responsible for sewing the member-donated blocks into a quilt top. These quilts, along with other quilts graciously donated by members, are given to local charities as part of our Community Quilt program.

Eye Spy Xs Block of the Month

This block is a 12" finished block using a fun, bright "kids" fabric as the center block, provided at the July guild meeting. You may also use something from your stash. The "X" is made with bright or dark blue, with white/neutral low-volume rectangles on the sides, top and bottom. Yellow/gold fabric rectangles are in the corners. Please use solids, or fabric that "reads as solids" (small prints/textures) that will not compete with the center block.

Complete instructions are included in the link above. Contact LaDauna Wilson at tacomamqg@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like a center block. Feel free to make more than one!

Blocks are due at the August 2026 guild meeting.
